Connect folders

Connect a folder and Belloga finds the repositories and worktrees inside it and groups them as one project.

Belloga connects folders, not single repositories. If your frontend and backend repositories and the design notes you keep outside them live in one folder, connect that one folder.

Open the folder picker in one of three ways.

  • + (Add project) at the top of the sidebar
  • Add project in the workspace when no folder is connected
  • Add project in the command palette

Picking a folder inside one that is already connected does nothing new. Connecting a parent of a connected folder replaces the inner connection with the parent.

  • Folders with a .git up to four levels deep are found as repositories. Folders such as node_modules, dist, build and .venv are skipped.
  • Worktrees of the same repository are grouped under it.
  • Files outside repositories still show in the Files mode tree, and you can open and edit them.

Worktrees created and branches switched outside the app, in a terminal for example, show up right away. New repositories appear when you return to the Belloga window.

Click Disconnect (X) on the connection row in the sidebar. The folder and its files stay as they are. Only the sidebar entry goes away.
