Session status and notifications

See whether each Claude Code session is working, waiting for permission or idle, and get notified.

Belloga shows one of three states for each Claude Code session: working, waiting for permission and idle.

  • Tab title: a status dot in front, plus the context usage (%).
  • Worktree card: shows a working session first among that worktree’s sessions.
  • Connected folder row: shows waiting for permission first, so a session waiting anywhere stands out.
  • Status bar: the number of working sessions and of sessions waiting for permission. Click the waiting count to jump to that tab.

Ctrl+Shift+A (macOS ⌘⇧A) jumps straight to the tab of a session waiting for approval.

When a session starts waiting for permission, or finishes work and goes idle, Belloga shows a system notification. It names the project and branch, and clicking it takes you to the tab.

Configure it in the Notifications tab of the settings.

  • Turn the permission notification, the finished notification and the Notification sound on or off separately.
  • Don’t notify while I’m using the app (on by default)
  • Send a test notification to check delivery. If the operating system blocks notifications, Belloga says so and offers a button to open the system settings.

On macOS you are asked for permission the first time a notification is sent.

Status comes from Claude Code hooks. When the session status hook under Claude Code in the Agents tab of the settings is on (default), the app installs hooks and a statusLine in ~/.claude/settings.json when it starts. A statusLine you already use for something else is not overwritten.

With this hook off, status, notifications and the chat view in Claude tabs don’t work.
