Sidebar and modes
Switch between four modes on the left rail, Files, Git, Graph and Harness.
The rail on the left of the sidebar has four mode icons. From the top they are Files, Git, Graph and Harness, with Open settings at the bottom. Clicking the icon of the mode that is already open closes the sidebar. Ctrl+Shift+B (macOS ⌘⇧B) also opens and closes it.
Files mode
Section titled “Files mode”Shows a file tree for each connected folder. Files inside and outside repositories sit in the same tree, and names are colored by git status. Worktrees created outside a connected folder are added at the top of the tree.
- Markdown only keeps just
.mdfiles. - Right-click a connected folder row for New File, New Folder and New Excalidraw Drawing. File rows have Copy, Copy Name, Copy Path, Rename and Delete, and once something is copied, folder menus get Paste. Deleted files go to the trash.
- Above the file tree of an expanded repository sits that repository’s plan panel. See Work plans.
Ctrl+Shift+D(macOS⌘⇧D) switches to Files mode, or toggles Markdown only if you are already there.
Git mode
Section titled “Git mode”Has two tabs, Worktrees and Diff. Ctrl+Shift+G (macOS ⌘⇧G) switches between them.
- The Worktrees tab shows a card per worktree under each repository. A card shows the branch name, session status, task type and progress, and past Claude sessions. Click a card to open a terminal in that worktree.
- The Diff tab summarizes changed files, staged files and how far each worktree is ahead or behind its remote. Expand a card for the change list and commit form. See Diffs and staging.
Pick the Worktrees view under Worktree view in the General tab of the settings.
- By repo (default): worktrees listed under their repository.
- By status: grouped as waiting for permission, working, idle and no session.
Graph mode
Section titled “Graph mode”Lists each connected folder with its markdown file count. Click a row to open that folder’s link graph in a tab. Open it with Ctrl+Shift+N (macOS ⌘⇧N). See Notes and graph.
Harness mode
Section titled “Harness mode”Shows the templates and rules in ~/.belloga/agents as a tree, and replaces the workspace with the harness view. Open it with Ctrl+Shift+H (macOS ⌘⇧H). See Harness mode.
If the sidebar is closed, a mode shortcut opens it in that mode.
