Drawings (Excalidraw)

Draw with Excalidraw and embed drawings in markdown notes.

New drawing

Right-click a folder in the Files mode tree and pick New Excalidraw Drawing. A file ending in .excalidraw.md is created and opens in Excalidraw.

Drawings save one second after your last change. Ctrl+S (macOS ⌘S) saves right away. While a drawing has focus, letter shortcuts go to Excalidraw first.

Embedding in notes

Write this in markdown to show the drawing in preview.

|300 sets the width in pixels. Ctrl+click (macOS ⌘+click) an embedded drawing to open it.

File format

The same .excalidraw.md format as Obsidian’s Excalidraw plugin. Drawings made in Obsidian open as they are, and drawings edited in Belloga open in Obsidian. Inserting images into a drawing is disabled.
